It is usual for a pregnant woman to be aware of at least 10 movements in 12 hours after about 26 weeks pregnancy.
If after your resting and consciously thinking about your baby's activity there is less than this baseline, or if you notice a marked reduction in your baby's movements, then please inform me or the Labour Ward at the San or the Birth Unit at Norwest Private Hospital as soon as possible. You will be asked to attend so your baby's well being can be checked. Awareness of your baby's movements will vary considerably from one baby to another.
It is usual for one twin to be more active than the other throughout the pregnancy. This variation may continue after birth, If you are aware of a significant reduction in a twin's activity contact me or the Labour Ward at the San or the Birth Unit at Norwest
