If you have a problem such as atopic dermatitis then your dry skin tendence may be worts in pregnancy.

What can be done?IMG_1236

  • Use a soap that is specially made for dry sensitive skin. Avoid harsh soaps and chemical cleansers.
  • Liberal use of a good quailty skin moisturiser.
  • Drink one to two liters of water per day.
  • Occasionally a mind topical steriod cream is indicated. If so make sure that you adjust the dosage to the minimum amount required for relief of your symptoms.

Because dry skin in pregnancy and ther postnatal period is related to sex hormonechanges of pregnancy you can your skin will improve after you cease after pregnancy and especially you cease  breast feeding.
