Dr Gary Sykes MB BS FRCOG FRANZCOG, is the provider of obstetric care in this practice. Dr Sykes is a fully accredited specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist.
Dr Sykes graduated from Sydney University. His initial postgraduate training was in Sydney at Concord Hospital, then the Children's Hospital and then at the Women's Hospital. He completed his specialist training in the United Kingdom, initially at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff and then at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. He was Clinical Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Oxford and Senior Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. After returning to Australia Dr Sykes commenced private practice as a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist. His consulting rooms are in Hornsby and Castle Hill. He has admitting rights to the Sydney Adventist Hospital, Wahroonga and the Norwest Private Hospital, Bella Vista.
Dr Sykes and his wife Robyn have three children, Matthew (who is married to Tanya and they have two children Ameka and Ethan), Amanda (who is married to Stewart and they have two children Jesse and Toby) and Emily (who has just graduated from university).
Dr Sykes is committed to his family, his Christian faith, his community and to helping others.
Dr Sykes is a Director of the Australian Trust of the
Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital, Ethiopia, which is run by Dr Catherine Hamlin. This work was started by
Drs Reg and Catherine Hamlin in 1959 to help woman traumatised by childbirth in Ethiopia. For more information see

Dr Sykes's secretaries are Mrs Juli Groves and Mrs Michelle Smith. Juli and Michelle are both married and each has 2 children. Juli or Michelle will be your initial contact person when you phone the office or come in for an appointment. They are responsible for supporting Dr Sykes in your care and will assist you with inquiries, appointments, hospital bookings, accounts, advice regarding Medicare and health fund rebates and more.
